Louisiana Health Stats Did you know that in the year 2010 per 100,000 citizens the state of Louisiana reported more cases of death due to heart failure (98.27) versus (89.20) reported for the national average? This means per 100,000 residents in our state 98.27 of them died from heart disease. According to the CDC 6 in 10 cases of death due to heart disease are completely preventable. This means as Louisianan's we are completely capable of lowering this horribly high number to virtually 0 out 100,000. Let’s all be more active and help build a healthier Louisiana for the future.
